find vinyl records
Have got a great collections of of records and tapes , buhaven’t come across any program good enough to get them on my HD or to burn them on a CD.
you have to hook the cassette or phonograph to a computer, then use something like Adobe Audition (formerly CoolEdit) to record them to WAV format and then you can use a CD burner to record them to disc.

My mother worked at CBS back in the 50’s. She has a drawer full of signed records. Liberace, Rosemary Clooney just to name a couple. Apparently after radio shows the celebrities would sign vinyl records with crayon and the pages and interns were given these as perks. Where can I find out the value of such items?

I’ve got a lot of old vinyl records that I want to get appraised in case I want to sell them.
good question, I’ve got some 45’s from the 50’s I’d like to know about. Interested to see what kind of answers you get.

I looked up some of my sister-in-laws vinyl records and some said they had sold at an auction for quite a bit of change. Was wondering where to get any of her things online to sell? ? ?
eBay. If you write the description well, you can sell it for a lot more that it’s worth.

I have quite a few old vinyl records from the 60’s. I am going to sell them but can’t figure out what there worth or if they are worth anything at all. I have a Rubinstein Chopin Waltzes and a Four Favorite Violin Concertos. Also many more. Thank you for your help!!
Go to e-bay, look them up there to get a hint of their worth. And yes
a lot of people still buy vinyl.

I see that there are a lot of releases on vinyl records these days. Are there any advantages to vinyl over CDs? (I have over 600 CDs.) Vinyl records degrade over time because of physical contact with the needle, right?
Probably, the main reason for new releases coming out on vinyl is the DJ market. Many DJs like to mix their own music, and the record industry doesn’t want to neglect this growing market.
There are many who would argue that music sounds best on vinyl. Many die hard record collectors swear by this, and state that there is more of a ‘live’ sound on vinyl records. Even though CDs don’t let you ‘hear’ the scratches (unless they are deep enough to make it skip), that slight crackling on vinyl, is a distinctive sound all it’s own.
Extensive play may cause the grooves to wear a bit and technically widen, but not enough to affect the sound quality; as long as you care properly for your albums.
Hope this helps!
