I have 50 or so vinyl records and I want to nail the to my wall. What are some ideas for Patterns or configurations to put them on my wall with.
Try to make them into a shape of an instrument like drums or a guitar, i think that would be really cool!!
does anyone know how to repair scratches in old vinyl
records????
Mostly people are touting the "tranfer to digital" route. That way you can clean up hiss, pop, and crackle with the software provided with your digital turntable.
There are companies out there that will do this transfer for you, but really, if you are anyway competent with a PC, you can do it yourself.
In terms of repairing old vinyl to sound like new…well…if you have a serious scratch, it’s pretty much game over.
Sometimes though, a thorough clean is all that is needed. There are many chemical solutions and special cloths on the market – google them and see.
However, here is something to try if you are PARTICULARLY brave. I use this method, after practicising on an unwanted Cliff Richard LP.
Get a deep pan of boiled water, still fairly hot. Get a pair of tongs and then get your record and hold it using the tongs. Use the centre to hold the record by. And then it’s down to speed here – very quickly dip the record in and out of the water. Like, in a second.
Then lay it flat on some lint free material before drying it off with a chamois.
Works for me, but practice first.
In good shape and really cheap, and of some goods bands too.
Ohh your from CT
Me too. Unfortunately I live in Hell at the moment lol.
I really have no idea though, I just get excited when I see people from Connecticut
Good Luck!
Tepid soapy water. If you have the water too hot the records will bend.
Wish I’d know, I’d have given you all mine.
I just wondered if they r worth much….I have all my old Monkees LP’s……have u ever sold old records?
Vinyl records? I am way too young….oh, wait, you know my age. No, I still have them and DON’T ask me about 8-tracks! lol
How ya doing sweetie? It is good to be back.
lots do, since its all over record stores. But I don’t see the market.
They are classics and antiques. Their values in price go up too over time. They can be an investment.
Where can I physically go to sell old vinyl records. How do I know how much they’re worth? I’m on NY State?
Record dealers will only pay up to half of what they are worth. Look on the ‘net for vinyl records to get an idea of what yours are worth, then put them on e-bay. I have had some good results.
I heard it was legal to download songs off of limewire (or any of the big file sharing programs) if you own the CD that they are on. Since vinyl records have superior sound quality over MP3 music files I was wondering if i could buy a vinyl record then dl the songs on it off of limewire for portable MP3 player use legally. If it is legal, that rocks. If not, oh well.
This is one of those gray areas that depends on who you talk to. If you own a copy, then you can do anything you want to with it. If you have vinyl, you can make copy it so you can burn it on a CD or put it on a MP3 player. All perfectly legal. You CAN’T make a copy of it for a friend, sell a copy, or share it out on the internet.
Remember, that’s my humble opinion. Others will surely disagree that the law is more strigent and other will say it isn’t that strigent. Unfortunately, I fear that Congress will decide for us one day
