Where can I find inexpensive frames for 45 rpm vinyl record album singles?

Author: admin  //  Category: find vinyl records

I have a big collection of 33 and 45 rpm record albums… I have framed several of the larger records, as it is easy to find the LP record frames in stores (they are 12" by 12"). Where’s the best place to find the smaller 7" by 7" frames for the record ’singles’? Thanks!

How can I prevent my Vinyl Records from being warped/scratched etc.?

Author: admin  //  Category: new vinyl records

Brand new to vinyl and clueless to the concept of keeping them in good condish.

When handling them keep your fingers off the playing surface. Slide them out of the wrapper and place your fingers in the centre where the record label is and on the edge of the record. Place on the turntable by holding the record between the palms of your hands on opposite edges.

Store them in a vertical position in a dry location. Don’t loan them to people who won’t look after them as you would like.

Use an anti-static record cleaner to keep them dust free, but avoid using wet cleaners.

Ensure your cartridge is in good condition and is aligned correctly so that the stylus is not damaging the grooves of the records. An alignment protractor is essential to get this right (available from hi fi shops for a few pounds).

Does anyone know where I can find vinyl records of modern bands?

Author: admin  //  Category: find vinyl records

I like old records but I want to find vinyl records of bands releasing them today not thirty years ago. I know they are out there. I can find them on the internet but I would like a physical store.

I have built a respectable collection of original presses by haunting thrift stores. Collectors or dealers know it too, and 45s as well as 33s get picked up pretty quickly.

Salvation Army will occasiionally have some, and Goodwill too. Yard sales have yielded some of my treasured platters. Trouble is that youu can’t play them to check the surface quality. If there is no return policy, you’re stuck.

Most re-releases are on CDs.

Hope it works for you as it does for me.

No

Does anyone know why record companies don’t manufacture vinyl records that much anymore?

Author: admin  //  Category: find vinyl records

I’m a record collector and ever since cds started coming out, its hard to find vinyl records except in the salvation army centers.

For the same reason they don’t make wax cylinders or 78 rpm records. New technologies push out the old. CDs are much more durable, much harder to scratch, and much easier to transport, and that’s why they’ve taken over. If it hadn’t been for "scratching", vinyl records might have completely disappeared.

As to the next format, no way to tell. Some were touting DAT (Digital Audio Tape) as the next big thing, others Minidiscs. With the explosion of digital music and players, there may not be any future "hard" format, although I don’t see the record companies giving up on something they can actually sell for some time.

I’d like to get into dj -ing with vinyl, but wherever i find songs i like on beatport, i cannot find them as vinyl. Is there a particular online store that sells alot of new house/electro music ? thanks.

Online Record shops selling vinyl are going to be pretty specialist these days. I have a website where I store my links to rare vinyl, but you will have to search for what you want.
Hope the link works, if not email me and I’ll give you a list of links I have

The Juno site is pretty good as well http://www.juno.co.uk/electro-house/back-cat/vinyl/letter-b/

question about vinyl records?

Author: admin  //  Category: new vinyl records

i grew up listening to vinyl records but i never learned much about them. my husband just got me a new record player for christmas and i am trying to understand the difference between the rpms. can anyone help? i also want to by some new albums on vinyl and the ones i want say 180g HQ exactly what does this mean?

RPMs is how fast the record spins when being played back. You need to set your player to match the record, otherwise the sound will play too fast or too slow accordingly.

where could i find a vinyl record player?

Author: admin  //  Category: find vinyl records

hello,
i would like to buy a vinyl record player that doesn’t need a stereo system just the speakers inside the record player (if that makes sense) i would like to play records from 50s-80s which ever size record that is because i am not sure (i am 15..) also if anyone could tell me the brands of record players or what keywords i should search that would be most helpful!!
THANKS

You just want to look for a record player, not a turntable or a component. And the fifties through eighties aren’t so long ago that records have changed. They’re still the same.
