Vinyl Records are Back!

My mom lost a bunch of vintage records in a move and I’m trying to find some for her birthday, so if anyone knows of any websites or anything?

Used book/music stores, or eBay.

Im having a yard sale and have 2 boxes of vinyl records i’m selling, how much should i sell them for?

I have several boxes of old vinyl records lying around and I was wondering what would be the best way to sell them. Non of them are in what you would call mint condition and most of them are 70s pop. I don’t really want to list all of them and take the time to sell each one individually, but I would like to just something out of them even if it isn’t much. What would you recommend?

Put an ad on your local Craigslist and see if anyone is interested in them. Old vinyl records aren’t worth a lot unless they’re some collectible record in really good condition. At least advertising on Craigslist is free.

If nobody is interested in buying them you can always donate them to Goodwill.

Isn’t that old technology and out of date? And are CD’s really that much better?

Vinyls have more of a "punch" to them and give more of a "live" sound. Plus if you like classic rock, having vinyls is a cool collection, as most old rock was released on vinyls.

I dont know anything about vinyl except that it sounds better than cd!! I need to buy a record player and also buy my favorite albums in vinyl! Is technics sl 1200 a good record player ? Does it play modern vinyls? What size of vinyls do new record players play?

Many people think CD’s sound better than records so that is up to debate.

You will spend a lot more money on records because they cost more to make than a cd.

In addition to size, vinyl records can be categorized by
a. the number of times they rotate on a record player in one minute.
b. the volume of the recording.
c. the thickness of the record.
