What are some cool crafts I could make out of vinyl records?

Author: admin  //  Category: vinyl records

I have a ton of old scratched vinyl records, and I really wanna make them part of my apartment but making something out of them. I have made a bowl out of them, then just hung some from the ceiling….. have any better ideas?

I have seen them grouped together and made into a wall art. That was cute, especially for a den, or over your music center in your home. I have also seen jewelry made from them. and cups and bowls and coasters and one lady sprayed them silver, used them as a decoration under the plates, then had the kids at her party sign each others records for a souvenir. Evidently if you want to shape them, you soften them in the oven. Perhaps e-how would have directions.

OMG! go to this one! 1800recycling.com/2010/07/uses-old-vinyl-records. they had butterflies, and birds and clocks, really neat ideas!

and do not throw away the album covers, there was a pattern for a purse made from them along the way in my research.

I typed "uses for old vinyl records" into the browser, and found lots of sites.

Does anyone know the name of Jack White’s new vinyl record.
I’m not sure if it’s The Raconteurs, The White Stripes or Dead Weather but…
it was sold at a concert my son’s friend went to.
It breaks/peels apart and turns into a 45.
If anyone can help out I sure would be grateful !!!!!
Thanks Wire & String. Found it after some research on eBay for over $500.00 !!!!!

Looking to sell old vinyl records?

Author: admin  //  Category: old vinyl records

Where can I locate a site that buys vinyl records? Herbie Mann and others.

If you want to sell a box full of records, your best bet is local buyers. No one’s gonna want buy a box of records mainly because of the shipping costs. And most will want to pick and choose anyway, local or not. Most buyers will only pay far below market value, whether they are having it shipped or looking thorugh your box locally. If that’s cool with you, then you can probably make a few dollars.

If you want the most bang for your buck, it’ll take time and research. It depends on how much effort you want to put into it. Just remember that jacket and vinyl condition is everything. This web page has articles and videos that may help you figure out how you want to go about this.

Advice for melting old vinyl records?

Author: admin  //  Category: old vinyl records

I recently discovered (after making 2 [gorgeous] things) that those really smelly fumes coming off my records were cancerous, but then again everything is. Anyways, I got some dust masks and plan on moving my fan into my work area, but are there any other tips anyone has to share? Thanks.
Fume vent, yeah…
This is a hobby and I live in an apartment.
Going outside isn’t a bad idea..

Build a fume hood or take the whole thing outside. A dust mask won’t do any good.

I have old LP vinyl records with marker ink on its cover (cardboard box). How do i remove the ink effectively? I have tried alcohol, it works, but are there other best alternative to remove such ink?

Hi,
I don’t guarantee it will work, but fingernail polish remover might be an option.
